* Flashback *

You toppled over the cliff, closing your eyes. 'So… this is the end for me…' You smiled. "Ah, well…" "NO!" you heard a voice shout. Suddenly, you weren't falling anymore. You opened your eyes to be met with green ones. "H-Hey! Where did the little blood-sucker go?!" you heard an angry voice shout from the top of the cliff. You smiled sadly, "He's right, you know. Since you saved me, you better watch your back. Actually, you should watch your neck!" The man smiled, "I hardly doubt it. You trust me, I can tell. I'm Thaddeus Kirkland." "I'm ______ ______. Why did you save me?" Thaddeus smiled.

"Why does there need to be a reason to save someone's life?"

* Years Later, After You and Thaddeus Went Separate Ways *

You chuckled as you stared down your opponent, baring your fangs. "Bring it, Kirkland. I'd love to see you defeat me!" you chuckled, staring him down. He smiled at you, "I'd love to defeat you, ______." He grinned, grasped his staff, and ran across the beach. You chuckled, "Oh, yeah! Like that's going to help you any!" You dashed toward him, not watching your step. He turned, just… smiling. 'Huh? Doesn't he… fear me?!' you shouted in your head. All of a sudden, the ground fell from beneath you. "ACK!" You grunted as you landed at the bottom of the hole. Thaddeus chuckled, "Looks like the big bad vampire isn't so bad after all!"

"Shut up!" you growled at his as you started to climb out of the hole he had dug. He chuckled again, "How about… you eat your vegetables?" Thaddeus started to dump garlic into the hole, some hitting you on the head. You fell back into the hole with another grunt. "N-Not fair! Fight me with your magic! You have thousands of spells you can use!" Thaddeus leaned over the hole and flashed you a smile. "That's what you think! I actually only know five or six, because I dropped out of the magic academy. Bet you didn't know that!" You blinked twice, "W-What…?" He chuckled again, "It's true! But, I WOULD like to demonstrate one I know!" He then pulled out a little black book, and raised an eyebrow. "Wow, my Latin needs work… Infernus Scholasticus!" You started to glow purple.

* Present Time *

You stared up at the red moon, sighing. "W-What's wrong, ______?" your servant, Haru asked. "Nothing, Haru. I'm going for a walk, okay?" you said as you stood up. "Please, let me accompany you, miss." "No. No, just stay here and wait for my return." "Y-Yes miss."

You walked silently through town. Every since you were put under that STUPID curse by Thaddeus, you were stuck in a middle school girl's body. Your vampire powers only came out in the full moon, which, unfortunately, was not tonight. You reached the bridge, the farthest you could go because you were bonded to the town. You growled and kicked the nearest thing you could find. Which was a light post. "OW! Stupid light post piece of crap!" you yelled. You walked over to the side of the bridge and looked at the water below.

* Flashback *

Thaddeus pulled you by the wrist to the principal of the school you were to attend. "Now, sir, this is ______. She is going to stay here for… a while." You glared at him. "How long is a while?! I don't want to stay here with this old coot!" Thaddeus chuckled, "Now, now. Don't be rash. I'll only be a couple months at most. During that time, I will be searching for the way to lift your curse. I promise, once I find it, I'll be right back and lift the curse I put on you."

* Present Time *

But he lied. It's been 15 years since he made that promise. You figured that he either lied or he was dead, and you KNOW that he wasn't dead. You stood on the bridge and stepped off, whispering, "You lied. Why did you lie?" Tears slowly trickled out of your eyes and into the cold night air. "NO!" you heard a voice shout. Your wrist was grabbed and pulled up.

"T-Thaddeus?" You asked. "N-No… why, do you know my father?" You blinked and looked at your savior. He had the same green eyes as Thaddeus, and also the same blonde hair as him, but this man had the largest eyebrows you have ever seen. EVER. In your hundreds of years of living! "W-Why did you save me?" The man smiled, "Why does there need to be a reason to save someone's life?" Your eyes filled with tears again. "Whoa! Love, please don't cry! I'll do anything to get you to stop crying!" You shouted, "Then let me fall! I was SUPPOSED to fall all those years ago! But, no! Saving people is just what your family loves to do, eh Kirkland?! Even when they're damned!  I bet you've also made a lot of empty promises too, just like your father!" The man's eyes flooded with hurt.

"L-Love… my father made many empty promises. He told me that he'd be back from his journey, save and sound. He made that promise nine years ago, and I haven't seen him since, alive or dead." Now, your eyes flooded with hurt. "Wow… I had no idea. I also had no idea that Thaddeus had a son… Anyway, my name is ______ ______." The man smiled, "Nice to meet you, ______. I'm Arthur Kirkland. Now, how about we get you onto the bridge, safe and sound?" He flew you both back onto the bridge, and you saw what he was flying on. "I-I know that staff… it was your father's…" Arthur spun it and smiled, "Right!"
Just then, there was a small green light. Out of the light fell a small box. The box read 'To ______ ______.' You picked it up and opened it. There was a note, from- "T-Thaddeus?"

The note read, '______, I'd like you to get to know my son. What's the problem? Come on, I dare you! Heart heart, Thaddeus.' You chuckled, "You moron…" Arthur raised an eyebrow, "Huh?" You smiled and took his hand. "It's nothing. Come on. Let's go for a walk." "Sounds good. Would you like to get a cup of tea?" You thought about it. Usually, you had tea at home, and you never went out with a stranger. But… Arthur was hardly a stranger! You had known his father!

You grinned, "I'd love to." He smiled, "Great! I know this quaint little café! It's just around the corner!" He took your hand, causing you to blush lightly. 'W-Why am I blushing!? There is NO way that I like this… this brat! He should fear me! Everyone else does! Why the heck does the Kirkland family… LIKE me?!'

As you were thinking, Arthur lead you to the little café, on the corner of a street you walk by all the time. "Huh. I didn't know that there was a café here." Arthur smiled and lead you inside. An Italian man stood at the counter, a smile on his face and an odd curl on the side of his head. "Ve~ Arthur, you're back! And-a you brought a beautiful girl! Good for you! I was-a hoping that you'd-a get a girlfriend soon!" You snapped, "I'm not his girlfriend! We are barely even friends!" Arthur sighed, "It's true. Oh, ______. This is Feliciano. Feli, this is ______. She knew my father."

Feli smiled, "Ve bene!" Another man that looked like Feli walked in, an irritated look on his face. "Che palle, Feli! Just ask them what they want already! Stupid brother…" "Lovi~ I will, ve~ ______, this is my brother, Lovino! Lovino, say hi to ______~" Lovi looked away. "Vaffanculo! I'm here to serve stupid pastries, coffee, and tea, not get to know the customers!" With that, Lovi turned and went back into the kitchen. "Sorry, he's a bit of a dick! He had to spend time with our big brother Antonio, so that's why!" You smiled slightly, "It's fine, Feli. Now, may I have some tea? Oh! Aaand… a strawberry shortcake  please!" Just because you were hundreds of years old doesn't mean you don't have a sweet tooth!

Arthur gave you a weird look, but said, "Feli, I'll take an Earl Gray and some cookies." Feli smiled, "Si! Please wait a moment!" He went in the back, leaving you and Arthur alone. "So... strawberry shortcake?" "What? It's good!" "I know. It's just... I didn't think vampires like sweets!" "They can!" You pouted. 'Who does this guy think he is?!' Feli walked back with two tea cups and a tea pot. "Here's the tea! Ve~" He ran and came back with your snacks. "Enjoy~" You grabbed the snacks and Arthur took the tea. You walked toward the glass front, sitting at a small table. You poured the tea for both you and Arthur. "Thank you. I also didn't know that vampires have manners." You scoffed, "You really don't know much about us, do you? We're basically the same as you people, but we live way longer and happen to have fangs, a hunger for blood, and a fear of garlic!" He chuckled, "Ah. I knew about that stuff. Is there anything that vampires are stereotyped for that isn't true?"
"Oh, most of it! One that pisses me off a lot is that vampires sparkle in the sun! I mean, come ON. Seriously? We aren't pixies! We don't even burn in the sun! If we did, I'd be dead by now!" Arthur chuckled, "I'm glad you don't sparkle. I was hoping that was a lie! Now... could you tell me more about vampires?" You stared deep into his eyes. "Okay, listen carefully." He stared into your eyes in anticipation. "No." Arthur blinked, "W-What? Why not?"

You leaned back in your chair, proud of yourself. "Because! I can't tell a human ALL of our secrets! I've actually told you too much already! I have every right to turn you right now! I won't, but I could." "And why not?" You were shocked. "W-Why would you want this life? It's horrible: You would be always alone, forced to drink human blood to live, not able to fall in love-" Arthur stopped you. "Not able to fall in love?" You nodded. "Vampires normally fall in love with humans. Since vampires live basically forever, the human they love would die eventually. If the vampire turns the one they love, usually the relationship doesn't work out as well as it did when the one was human. Therefore, it's just stupid to fall in love. Stupid and useless."

Arthur took your hand. "Love is NOT useless." You pulled your hand away and glared slightly at him. "I can think what I want. Anyway, you know a lot about me. What about you, Kirkland?" He leaned back. "What's there to say... I don't have many friends, because I'm 'too sarcastic' apparently. I've studied magic since I was very little, starting spells at about that time. My father was always out of the house, and I didn't know where mother was. I spent most of my time casting protective spells on myself and others. I want to become a Magi, but I have to finish my training. Now, is that enough?" You nodded, "Yup. Sounds good." Arthur took a sip of tea. "Now, I've been wondering... since you're a vampire, why don't you at least look like an adult?"

You exhaled angrily and started to eat your shortcake. You swallowed and mumbled, "Your dad cursed me.. he promised to lift the curse when he found the cure, but he never came back... happy now?" "Not exactly. I can't believe he cursed you like that and never came back! Plus... I just might know how to lift the curse!" Your jaw just about hit the floor. "R-REALY!?! PleasepleasepleasePLEASE!"

Arthur chuckled, "Fine. Mostly because I want to see what you REALLY look like." He pulled out a little black book. "Incipium cumfestum ouis magica!" You glowed a light purple as your hair got longer, you got taller, your face became more beautiful, and you became more shapely. Arthur opened his eyes and stared at you. He blinked, "W-Who are you and what have you done with ______?" You had an I-am-not-freaking-amused-you-moron look on your face. "It's me, you idiot." Arthur stared at you and smiled, "It IS you! You're so beautiful! You could be a model!"

You chuckled, "Thank you for lifting that stupid curse! Now, not only do I have my normal body back and can leave the barrier, but I also have all of my vampire powers back! Thank you, Kirkland. I guess you guys aren't all that bad." Arthur smiled, until he heard the last part. "Wait… you have your vampire powers back?!?" "Yep! Thanks! And, in return, I won't kill anyone! For a while, at least…" Arthur looked scared. "What, NOW you're afraid of me?!" Arthur nodded, "Well, yes… because you didn't have your powers before! Now, if you wanted, you could snap me in half!" You giggled, "I guess I could… I won't though. I have a feeling that I should stick by your side for a while. You could teach me magic, and I'll teach you some vampire magic! It's a good deal~"  You grinned, knowing that this was basically a bribe for him to let you stick around. "Well… I guess so. On one condition: N-No drinking anyone's blood-" "Whaaaat?" "I didn't finish! No drinking anyone's blood… but mine. I'm the only one that knows you're a vampire, and if you drink anyone else's blood, they'll find out and chase you with pitchforks and torches, and I don't want a pissed off mob to chase my teacher away." Arthur smiled when he finished talking.

"… Deal. But you don't get to complain that it hurts." Arthur chuckled, "Hardly. I can take pain. Trust me." You chuckled, "Great. I should let Haru know." "Haru?" "My maid. She's been so good to me. I should let her know that I'm traveling with you." Arthur smiled, "I could come with you. I would like to meet Haru." You smiled and finished up your tea. "Ready?" Arthur finished his tea and said, "Ready as I'll ever be." You smiled and started to lead the way.
